When he exited Wimbledon last year in the semi-finals, Federer spent six months out of tennis through injury. Even he had doubts over his future but his resurgence has delighted his fans: “Unbelievable! What he has been achieving this year is unreal taking six months off. We were waiting for his 8th title since I don’t know how long. And it’s finally there! It’s amazing!”said one woman clearly happy at the outcome. “It’s been amazing. Euronews reporter Olly Racz summed up the two-week tournament: “The 2017 Wimbledon tennis tournament will be remembered for many things but the main theme was a change of guard in the Ladies’ competition ( with victory for Garbine Muguruza over Venus Williams) and complete and utter domination of the established tennis hero in the Men’s competition.”
