cameras for more information. stef we're your local election headquarters... bernie sanders is back at it again with a push to reform the health care system. the bill introduced to the sentate today is called "medicare for all". ksee 24's gregory woods tells us its already backed by nearly a third of the senate, .including one of our own senators. greg? [a32]medicare changes greg-monitor greg senator kamala harris co- sponsered the bill... she also has a petition going to support it .. local republicans say it will create more taxes.. kamala harris everyone should receive the healthcare they need regardless of where they live their income or their zip code.. kamala harris is one of 16 senators behind a bill called medicare for all.. political analyst jim verros says it's not to be confused with universal single payer health care.. medicare for all plan would cover everyone for 80 percent like it does with seniors a single payer system covers everyone like it does in canada.. local republicans say medicare for all is still just as bad as the single payer system sanders introduced during his presidential campaign.. americans are going to pay for in a tax or employers will in a payroll tax .. just beware nothing in life is ever free .. we are all going to pay for it.. but vallely democrats say the plan would pay big dividends in the long run. one of the criticism is the cost of universal healthcare but over the longterm it will be significantly less .. and the more we can get the profit motive out of healthcare the proficient we will be as providers.. a planned parenthood rep says they're still reviewing the bill to make sure it's all inclusive.. we want to ensure that it covers the undocumented community.. verros says he doubts the bill will get far.. it's not going to get through the house or the senate absolutely not.. greg sponsors of the bill say tax payers would benefit by 25 billion dollars over the next 5 years.. gregory woods ksee 24 local
