companies held responsible. alex all eyes are on northern california... as several deadly wildfires continue to burn. joey thousands of people-- still can't go home. cbs47's "joe moeller" is tracking the latest. moe 23-people are now confirmed dead. police are worried... that number could grow... as they search for the hundreds of people who are listed missing. block after block of santa rosa, california has been reduced to ash. the wildfires ripping through northern california's wine country continue to burn out of control and with high winds in the forecast, officials warn it could get worse. there are several fires in the area.... two are creating major concerns.... the tubbs fire north of santa rosa has so far burned over 27,000 acres and is 10 percent contained. and southeast of that blaze is another major fire causing a lot of damage. the atlas fire is just east of napa. it has burned over 43 thousand acres and is only 3 percent contained. but there are several fires burning in the area other than those two. all fires are a worry for the community of calistoga. that community yesterday was forced to evacuate. a shelter has been set up at american canyon high school..where dozens are staying the night. david oro american canyon city council member "cots, medical beds, showers etc...the city of calistoga i understand is about 7k people or so. we're expecting 5 to 10 percent of those people to show up and american canyon welcomes them and is ready to help" officials are now worried about more wind and dry conditions in the days to come. moe we will continue to keep you updated on the blazes burning across northern california. stay with us here on cbs 47 for the latest. reporting in the studio joe moeller. joey: it's ... let's check in with "gayle king" in new york... for a look at what's coming up at 7 o'clock. coming up, we're in
