you just love thanksgiving dinner, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes. >> millaine: our mealtime mentors with a delicious casserole. >> my name is emily and this is lauren and we are two of festival's mealtime mentors. sometimes after a big thanksgiving dinner we have so many different leftovers that i just don't know what to do with them. >> they can take up a ton of space in your fridge. it can be tedious. >> we have a great solution. we are making a thanksgiving leftovers casserole using all the different leftovers. >> it's perfect because you're combining everything in this casserole dish and it eliminates the different containers. for me, my fridge is super full. it's nice to get it all in one casserole dish. >> let's get started. >> yeah. first we are going to sprayer casserole dish. this recipe can be modified depending on the leftovers that you have. you can use a bigger baking dish. the next step is we are going to combine our fresh cranberry sauce. >> we have a fantastic recipe for fresh cranberry sauce on our blog. it's made with 100 percent juice, so more naturally sweet cranberry sauce. it uses fresh cranberries which is kind of cool. >> i love that recipe. i make it every year. >> we are going to move over to our mashed potatoes. we are adding this into a bowl with cheese and mayo to tie everything together and keep things really moist. >> i'm sure some of you are watching this thinking the holidays are around the corner and you haven't planned anything. one thing i love is heat and serve. you can choose turkey, ham, prime rib, lasagna. you can order the meals at your local festival foods and deli department. various sizes depending on how many people you have coming over for the holiday. a option. you can use leftovers in this recipe as well. >> absolutely. this is pretty well mixed. >> we are going to move over to our stuffing. that's going to be the base and the topping. we are going to take half of this and place it on the bottom. >> perfect. a little bit more. >> next, are leftover turkey. use this to spread it out. what's nice about this is after we have thanksgiving meal, the turkey can get a little drive. this is a option because we are adding a lot of things that have good moisture content. >> this might be a good opportunity to incorporate some of that in here as well. >> yes. i'm going to spread the cranberry mixture and mayo mixture over the top as evenly as possible.>> a little bit challenging. >> it will get mixed together. perfect.>> on going to top this with mashed potatoes. >> i'm a huge fan of mashed potatoes. probably my favorite part of this dish. >> i love that everything comes together in one casserole dish. you get all the great flavors together which is really fun. >> then we are just going to finish it with our remaining stuffing. >> this is night because it seals it. >> nice and golden brown on top and a little bit crunchy. super delicious. >> perfect. we have basically layered everything.this is a thanksgiving meal and one casserole. all we need to do is pop this in the oven 375 for 40 minutes or until completely cooked through. >> yes. i think a great opportunity to talk a little bit about leftovers and food safety. we are using leftovers in this dish. especially around the holidays, we want to make sure we are keeping hot food hot and cold food cold. making sure all of our food is staying safe. putting it in the refrigerator. usually the four hour timeframe is the limit. we don't want to go over the four hour limit if possible. >> definitely good things to keep in mind around the holidays. here's a leftover casserole. it looks beautiful. the last ingredient is we are going to add dried cranberries on top as a garnish. >> i love the holiday flare and color this adds. today we are using cranberries from patience fruit and cranberries. they are nice and plump and juicy. they add a nice flavor. >> yes. this looks awesome. >> i'm going to serve up some delicious casserole. >> so nice and crunchy. >> it looks delicious. >> i love stuffing. that's my favorite around the holidays. >> what you think? >> oh my gosh. >> thanksgiving
