has been recognized for its success by the state's tourism industry. the animal education park received the award for excellence in marketing in the private sector.largely through the marketing of the pregnancy of its giraffe april, and subsequent birth of her calf tajiri, animal adventure saw its attendance this year go up by 300 percent with a anticipated final tally of 200 thousand visitors. owner jordan patch says, "it's very rewarding to see animal adventure and its concept take off. as a business person, it;s even more rewarding to see the residual impact it's having on our community. and without question, the hotels, the restaurants, the gas stations have noted a significant change in business during our months of operation." jim ehmke says: patch says he saw on average license plates from 12 different states in the parking lot each day this year.and the park welcomed international visitors from canada, ireland, the united kingdom, japan and australia.judi hess, the director of visit binghamton, nominated animal adventure for the award.she estimates that the park had at least a million dollar economic impact on visit binghamton director judi hess says, "he's drawn people from all over the world. so, people all over the world know where harpursville and binghamton, new york are, where they didn't before. so, you can't put a dollar tag on that, but it's vital. it's vital for this community." jim ehmke says: animal adventure partnered with the doubletree hotel in binghamton to offer special overnight packages to out-of -town guests.those deals also generated a 25 hundred dollar donation to the giraffe conservation foundation by the hotel.that's on top of the 30 thousand the park donated.animal adventure will be hosting a jungle bells event on saturdays and sundays in december.the park will be decorated for the holidays and many of the animals, including the new reindeer, will be health officials from across the
