montana as we stop to thank the men and women who have served for our country. veterans day is commemorated tomorrow. but today... schools like hamilton... pulled out all the stops to honor our veterans in a massive assembly. kevin maki reports. 0:00 0:33 0:56 "here at the veterans memorial in hamilton the walls are lined with names of the veterans who have served in the armed forces. most are from the bitterroot. it's a long proud list. at schools all over the valley students have been honoring their service. hamilton schools brought down the house. best guess at the crowd. 25-hundred people including students gave a huge welcome to the veterans seated in a spot of honor. this is patriot country.
"more montanans volunteered to serve in the armed forces per capita than almost any other state in the country. when folks are in danger montanans are there to answer the call to duty." not many seats were left empty in this sizable gym at hamilton high. there were veterans from every branch of service. stand up world war two veterans. korean vets, vietnam, persian gulf, afghanistan, troops who who fought in iraq, oceans away--- and came home.
