The world's largest plane, Antonov An-225 Mriya, landed at Shannon Airport delivering personal protective equipment to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Footage filmed on June 12 shows the plane's nose turning up as it prepares to unload its cargo at west Ireland airport.

Director of operations at the airport Niall Maloney reportedly told local radio: ”With a wing span wider than the Croke Park pitch and, from nose to tail, over one and a half times the length of an Olympic swimming pool, the Antonov 225 stands alone as the largest and most powerful planes ever made." The aircraft is reportedly six stories high and weighs around 630 tons powered by six turbofan engines.
