Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer has defended comments he made about not wanting to diverge from European Union standards, after he was accused of wanting to “unpick Brexit”.

He said: “I have repeatedly said that there is no case for going back into the EU and that includes the Single Market and Customs Union … but that does not mean that a Labour government wants to lower standards.” Report by Buseld.
