Yes, VERANO and others as per word of ex employees no longer bound by either non compete or non disclosures have revealed to me this rather seemingly unsafe careless practice.
They non disclosure is relevant while working, and does include not discussing non compete, but that's kaput upon ending of employment, and FTC ended Non competes April 23, 2024.
That said, they aren't the only company rumored to be using these techniques, and yes I do have logical legitimate issues, say like the fact we have not even studied to weed we smoke today.
