Woman Charged in Alleged Plot to Bomb New York State Capitol

Jessica Bowie, 35, of Albany, New York, was arrested and charged with plotting an Islamic State-inspired attack on the New York State Capitol, according to the FBI and Justice Department. Prosecutors allege she pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group, planned to detonate an explosive at the statehouse, and intended to flee to IS-controlled territory in Syria. The FBI apprehended her following a sting operation.
