DNC Backs South Carolina as First 2028 Democratic Primary State

The Democratic National Committee moved to keep South Carolina as the first state in the party's 2028 presidential primary calendar. The DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee voted Friday to recommend South Carolina lead the nominating contest, while moving up several other states, in an effort to better represent the party's racially diverse voter base.
