NYTimes – US President Donald Trump approved a plan to execute former Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan by firing squad for the 2009 Fort Hood shooting that killed 13 people, the Pentagon confirmed. The US Army has not carried out an execution since 1961, and Hasan's would be the first military execution by firing squad since World War Two. The date and location have not yet been set.
