BBC News – World Jessica Bowie, 35, of Albany, New York, was arrested and charged with plotting an Islamic State-inspired attack on the New York State Capitol, according to the FBI and Justice Department. Prosecutors allege she pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group, planned to detonate an explosive at the statehouse, and intended to flee to IS-controlled territory in Syria. The FBI apprehended her following a sting operation.
NYTimes – US The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and its approximately 5,000 crew are returning to San Diego after a roughly nine-month deployment in the Middle East, largely supporting U.S. operations against Iran. The USS George Washington has arrived to relieve the Lincoln, whose families raised concerns about deteriorating living conditions, plumbing problems, low morale and reports of several suicide attempts.
