Aung San Suu Kyi Meets Red Cross Official in Detention

Myanmar's detained former leader Aung San Suu Kyi met an International Committee of the Red Cross representative on Monday, Myanmar's government and the ICRC confirmed. The 81-year-old has been jailed since the military coup in February 2021. Her son, Kim Aris, said photographs of the meeting gave him "a reason to hope" and called it the first positive development in years.
