NYTimes – US Russia has freed American Stephen Hubbard after more than four years in prison. The 74-year-old Michigan native was reportedly taken captive by Russian forces in Ukraine and accused of fighting alongside Ukrainian forces. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the release following a request from U.S. President Donald Trump and during a visit by U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.
Sky News – World Pope Leo XIV, 71, will require no further treatment for lung cancer after tests confirmed the disease was localised, the Vatican said. The pontiff underwent surgery last week to remove part of his right lung after being diagnosed with pulmonary adenocarcinoma and was discharged Saturday.
