Trump Asks Supreme Court to Overturn $83.3 Million Carroll Defamation Award

President Donald Trump and the Justice Department have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn an $83.3 million defamation verdict that writer E. Jean Carroll won against him after she accused him of sexual assault. The appeal was filed electronically and is expected to be formally docketed later on Wednesday. Trump previously paid Carroll more than $5 million from a separate 2023 lawsuit.
