Christiane Amanpour to Leave CNN After 43 Years

Christiane Amanpour is leaving CNN after 43 years, she said in a statement on Monday. The veteran chief international anchor joined the network as an assistant in 1983. Her departure coincides with CNN's new ownership under Skydance following an $81 billion merger that also brings CBS under the same parent company, though the Guardian reports the exit is not thought to be linked to the acquisition.
