NPR – US Hochul names Letitia James special prosecutor in Cornell alleged rape case
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has appointed state Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor to investigate an alleged gang-rape at a Cornell University fraternity house. Hochul said she no longer has faith in the local district attorney's handling of the case. The appointment follows renewed scrutiny of a 2024 university investigation and the release of documents in which the accuser said she felt "like bait."
