Death of Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton, the country music singer, songwriter and actor, died aged 80 on 25 August after a brief battle with cancer. Subsequent coverage included tributes from public figures and fans worldwide, a disclosure by her sister that Parton had offered to try experimental drugs if there was no hope for her own recovery, and her private funeral and interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville alongside her late husband Carl Thomas.
