Eiffel Tower chief to step down after female staff excluded during religious visit

Patrick Branco Ruivo, head of the company that runs the Eiffel Tower, is to step down after female staff were excluded from view during a visit by a Hindu religious group earlier this month. The move, described as contrary to France’s value of equality, sparked outrage and a staff strike. The operating company called the exclusion unacceptable.
