Fort Hood Execution Plan

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the execution of former Army psychiatrist Nidal Malik Hasan, convicted of killing 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009, will be a public event and Pentagon officials said it would be livestreamed. Vice President JD Vance said he would not watch and cast doubt on whether the livestream would go forward. Some Republican lawmakers joined bipartisan criticism calling the plan inappropriate or beneath the United States, while others applauded it.
