Hurricane Lala Aftermath

Hurricane Lala skirted Hawaii over the weekend, weakening to a tropical storm without making direct landfall, but its outer bands brought flash flooding, mudslides, power outages and road closures to the Big Island. At least 100 homes were damaged or lost, one community was trapped after its road washed away, and residents have begun returning to survey the destruction.
