Thirlwall Inquiry Publishes Report on Lucy Letby Hospital Failures
Lady Justice Kathryn Thirlwall has published the report of her inquiry into events at the Countess of Chester hospital involving former nurse Lucy Letby. The report recommends 14 changes for NHS England to implement by March next year and concludes that three babies might have survived if hospital bosses and doctors had acted on concerns about Letby. Ministers have promised sweeping NHS changes in response. The inquiry did not pause proceedings to engage with concerns over Letby's conviction, leaving questions about the case itself unanswered.
