UK Covid care homes inquiry

The sixth report from the Covid inquiry has found that UK government failings allowed Covid-19 to spread "like wildfire" in care homes. It criticises a lack of personal protective equipment and the failure to advise care homes to isolate people discharged from hospital, which the inquiry chair called a "significant oversight". The report says the care sector was treated as "an afterthought" during the pandemic.
