UK Keeps East Jerusalem Consulate Open as UK Mission, Jerusalem

British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband said Britain's consulate general building in East Jerusalem will not close but will be renamed UK Mission, Jerusalem, remaining independent and operational. Israel had said the consulate would cease operations after the UK imposed sanctions on illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and signs were removed from the building overnight before the deal was announced.
