US and Saudi Arabia Strike Iran-Backed Militias in Iraq

The U.S. and Saudi Arabia carried out joint airstrikes on Iran-backed militias in Iraq, saying the sites had been used for recent attacks. Iran launched missiles at Jordan and at American forces; Jordan intercepted five missiles and the U.S. said it knocked down an Iranian barrage. The U.S. warned Iran to halt direct and proxy attacks on Gulf and Saudi energy targets to avoid further military response. Oil prices rose after claimed Iranian attacks on three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
