USS George Washington Relieves USS Abraham Lincoln in Middle East

The USS George Washington aircraft carrier has arrived in the Middle East to relieve the USS Abraham Lincoln after an approximately nine-month deployment, described as a record. The Lincoln, with about 5,000 crew members, is returning to San Diego. Reports from relatives cited deteriorating living conditions, plumbing problems, shortages, low morale and several suicide attempts aboard the Lincoln.
