Five J.C. Penney stores in Northeast Ohio are closing

J.C. Penney, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May, released its list of store closures on Thursday, including nine, of which five are in Northeast Ohio. The store closures, listed in a bankruptcy court filing, include a total of 154. Two are in Akron, and one each in Alliance, Ashtabula, and Parma.
