District Metals reports rock sample results with very high grades of silver and copper from Tomtebo

District Metals Corp (CVE:DMX) (OTCMKTS:MKVNF) (FRA:DFPP) revealed new sample results on Wednesday from the Tomtebo project in Sweden, that included grades of up to 1,397 grams per ton (g/t) silver equivalent.  The junior explorer collected six grab samples at the historic Lövås mine on the property that returned 216.3 to 1,397 g/t silver equivalent and 5.3% copper equivalent.  Another seven samples collected from the Kvistaberget area returned grades ranging from 7.8 to 421.4 g/t silver equivalent and up to 3.8% copper equivalent, and an additional eight samples from the historic Tomtebo mine area in 2018 returned 196.3 to 1,295.4 g/t silver equivalent and up to 13.2% copper equivalent, according to District.  READ: District Metals says airborne survey at the Tomtebo mine area in Sweden shows potential for discovery In a statement, District told shareholders that the objective of the sampling program was to use whole rock analysis to understand the original rock types and degree of alteration. Sampling did not target sulphide mineralization, the company said. Rock assay results with magnetics on the Tomtebo property "Rock samples recovered during the geological fieldwork at the historic mines and mineral occurrences across the Tomtebo property have returned very high grades associated with semi-massive to massive polymetallic sulphide mineralization,” CEO Garrett Ainsworth said in a statement Wednesday. “High grade assay results from the Kvistaberget area has drawn greater attention, given the lack of historic exploration data, and the areas location along trend and between the historic Tomtebo and Lövås Mines. The recently located historical drill results reported on in this release are from the south end of the Tomtebo Mine, which has generated additional priority drill targets and firmed up our existing 3D model of mineralized domains."    Vancouver-based District also said that historic drill data from the property revealed intersections of 22 metres (m) at 2.6% copper equivalent, increasing the confidence of its previously modeled mineralized domains. Another historic drill hole intersected 2.3m at 0.6% copper, 21% zinc and 5% lead, the company said. Tomtebo is a 5,144-hectare property in the historic Bergslagen mining district of Sweden. District is planning a drill program on the project in early 2021.
