Private companies may soon get to check for any criminal antecedents of a prospective employee by getting access to the Crime and Criminals Tracking Network Systems (CCTNS), a centralised repository of criminal records across the country's digitally-interlinked police stations. When reached, home ministry officials did not confirm or deny the move.
