Buffalo bitten by rabid dog dies, hundreds rush for rabies shots in Madhya Pradesh

It was a routine day at Dabra health centre, some 45km from Gwalior, on Thursday until people came in ones and twos and then scores, clamouring for rabies vaccines. As the crowd swelled to over 500 and vaccine vials dwindled, health staff scrambled to find out what had triggered the rush. What they learnt left them bemused.
