(MENAFN) Israeli authorities stated that on Sunday afternoon, May. 16 a Palestinian conducted a vehicle-ramming assault in East Jerusalem, wounding seven police officers. The attack happened in Nablus Road, close to Sheikh Jarrah, a Palestinian neighborhood in East Jerusalem, where the intended eviction of Palestinian families from their houses has incited weeks-long aggressive fights. The suspect rammed his vehicle at a group of police officers and paramilitary Border Police officers before the police fired and "neutralized" him, said a police report. Israel's Magen David Adom noted that five policemen were slightly wounded and another two suffered medium-to-severe wounds. One of them was injured by a bullet that an officer shot at the suspect, said Channel 12 TV news.
