More deaths, infections with COVID-19 in Gulf countries

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 2 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia on Wednesday declared suffering 16 new deaths with the novel coronavirus in addition to 1,269 infection cases past hours.The Saudi health ministry said in a statement the death toll due to the germ rose to 7,393 and the caseload to 452,956.In Muscat, the local health department reported the recording of 1,258 new cases with the caseload hitting 219,529. As to the death toll, it was recorded at 2,370.Elsewhere in the Gulf, the UAE reported two deaths in addition to 2,154 cases during the last 24 hours.
