Dolly Parton rejects proposed statue of her at Tennessee Capitol: "I don't think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time"

Parton thanked Tennessee lawmakers, but asked them not to consider a bill that would allow for a statue of her on the grounds of the Capitol.
