Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon kill at least nine

Israeli strikes on a southern Lebanese village killed at least nine people, including women and children, Lebanon's Health Ministry said. Lebanon says the escalation jeopardises a US-brokered ceasefire meant to end the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. The IDF said it had targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in response to an attempted attack on its troops.
