Manchester City found guilty of Premier League financial breaches

The Premier League has confirmed that Manchester City were found guilty of all charges related to breaches of its financial rules between 2009-10 and 2017-18. An independent commission found the club used "sham" contracts and disguised payments to artificially inflate revenues and reduce costs, with reported figures ranging around £830m to £900m. Manchester City will appeal the verdict before a Friday deadline. Possible sanctions, including relegation, have been reported but not confirmed.
