NYTimes – US Trump Withdraws Schroyer Nomination to Lead ICE
The White House withdrew its nomination of former Oklahoma state trooper Lance Schroyer to lead U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on September 17, 2026, less than three months after President Trump announced the pick. The agency remains without a Senate-confirmed director. Schroyer had no formal ICE experience and was an ally of Senator Markwayne Mullin.
