Fire District 3 makes new changes to preserve PPE and limit exposure
During this pandemic.
Leah says" fire district three is reducing and minimizing exposure for their first responders.
They are also preserving their ppe or personal protective equipment they have" nat of fire fighting fire chief horton from fire district three says state officials and local officials have made it clear.
There will not be enough ppe in the long run with the demand.
That's why the department made new changes to make that equipment last.
When 9-1-1 calls are answered more questions will be asked to determine the response.
Do multiple people need to help someone or can it just be one person?
If it's just one person that's less people having to put on ppe.
That's also minimizing the number of people being exposed inside that social distancing guidelines.
Chief says "to last as long as it possibly can.
So that anyone who is in emergent conditions is receiving the appropriate care and no health care worker in our entire county is left without having the right tools to protect themselves."
Each 9-1-1 call is different.
A phone call or facetime by the first responders on their way will help determine what kind of response is needed.
And don't be surprised if the responders lks like the person to the right.
