Indian officials shoot leopard in self-defence after it enters villager's home

Indian officials in Jorhat district shot a leopard in self-defence after it entered a villager's home on March 30.

After one of the villagers saw the leopard he alerted the family and they rushed out of their home.

Forest department officials were later called.

According to a forest official officer they tried to protect both leopard and residents and the leopard was shot by an official in self defence as it was aggressive.
