utility scam warning

A scam alert now.

According to governer andy beshear..

Electric complanies are reporting a surge in scammers, trying to exploit people during the covid-19 crisis.

According to the governor..

Scammers are calling people..saying they work for a utility company or co-op.

They then..threaten to disconnect service if immediate payment isn't recieved.

But remember... back in march, the state issued an order..

That stops disconnections for non-payment and fees for late payments during the pandemic.

According to the governor..

If you recieve a call like this... contact your utility company or report it through either the state attorney general's office online scam reporting form...or the consumer protection hotline.

You can find a link to both the form, and the hotline number, on our website..
