### nat of cooking sot broll of inside the kitchen over sot "we needed to sow seeds in our community, so when we looked at our food supply we said alright lets commit to giving a thousand burritos away," owner of la cocina economica, chris digiovanna tells action news now we all need to look out for each other.

Sot chris digiovanna owner of la cocina economica "the more steady we are the more steady the community can be," digiovanna tells action news now when la cocina went to curbside and delivery only - he wanted to help his employees.

"we would match employees tips and that kept our family the la cocina family safe and secure.

But he wanted to do more for his community too.

Sot broll of all the places he names "rosedale elementary school, torres shelter, jesus center, campbell common senior living, esplanade house, those are the five that i know of that we atleast donated twice to and that's atleast 100 burritos everytime," stand up i asked a cook at the jesus center how these donations helped them help others.

Sot brandon brooksãcook of jesus center "it relieves us to prep more functional meals for chico the area of chico so its very nice to have people that are supporting us freeing up a bit more time so were able to do something a bit more nurishable," nat pop of water running into potatoes of meals in jesus center sot amber abney-bass assistant director of jesus center "all the ways that covid has interrupted people this time, our food donations are certainly down and so we appreciate all the help that we can get."

Digiovanna says he's not done helping - and has a message for other local restaurants sot "if youre a restaurant owner or manager put out a challenge to la cocina we'll match it not because we love challenges but because we love our community," abney -bass says this isn't the first time digiovanna donated meals to them.
