Long wait times will likely come with your next trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Take a trip to the dmv recently, you may have noticed some big changes.

More lines and longer wait times are a common site at many locations across the state including our local office.

Kq2's ron johnson talked to the owner of that office.

He joins us now with more.

And staff say if you're not prepared it may come as a shock.many now have new social distancing regulations in place to help control crowds inside, but that, at least initially, is leading to uncontrolled crowds outside.

Thursday morning we found many people standing outside our local dmv waiting to get in.

We talked to the owner of this location, she breaks down what you can expect.(sot) "...very clearly."the dmv is encouraging people to wait in their cars, as opposed to in front of the location.

They're also encouraging customers to register via cell phone that way they can be alerted when it's time for them to come in.
