YMCA Summer Camp (6-17-20)

Are filling the downtown ymca....it's week two of summer camp andwith parents heading back to work....say it couldn't come soon enough... kq2's kilee thomas stopped by to see what the campers are up to.

Summer camp is back at the ymca couldn't be more thrilled"yes, on the first day i was really, really excited."

"and i was so happy that he could come back because he's been here every summer for several years in a row now and he talks about it for the whole school year.

Especially for kids like orion says zoom calls just weren't cutting it "my son has special needs, he has down syndrome and for him to have socialization with peers that are general education population is really important for him."as parents are heading back to work childcare has been tricky summer camp has come as a huge relief"it's been so important to me.

I'm a single mom and i've really relied on the extra help."it's also giving campers some much needed kid time "i was most excited about seeing my friends at camp."

We are still taking the temperatures of the kids when they arrive, they are dropped off outside, all employees will be wearing face masks and gloves when necessary.

We will continue social distancing and we will sanitize and clean on everything they use."
