It's time for coachs corner.

Coach jeremy wiggins back with the northeast raiders this season.

Here's part two of his conversation with bill shanks in the coach's corner.

That's jeremy wiggins fending for his third season as the head coach at northeast, the raider is five and five last year, just missing the playoffs and coach had a explosive, all fits into defense.

Allow 26 points per game.

You got a real junior league team here, only seniors on this team.

Let's talk about your deepens a little bit where you have six starters back and it sounds like you have some strength in the secondary.

Speaker 2 (03:08) : oh yeah.

Starting out with our secondary.

Um, the, i, the plan this freshman year has, um, 10 interception over the last two years off.

So he plays some corny place, a free safety.

Um, we have january stevens.

We have, uh, armies raul contract as well.

And a lot of 10th graders, they got planned time last year, that was going to be julia.

So we're looking for big names.

So they are, uh, jeremiah robinson, uh, has been leading the taco for the last two years.

Uh, he's gonna finish out his, uh, senior campaign product plan strong say, uh, with, and we have some good young linebackers, the markey's news and the triggers stem, and then upfront flat defense.

Let have, uh, roger hill who was a second team.

Our region, uh, pre cs are all, all state, um, honorable mention.

Uh, so he'll get a chance to, um, to help out our d line this year.

And also with derek dantley, uh, also being in the meetings speaker 1 (04:06) : with your young players here, a lot of juniors.

Do you have leaders or later stepping up for you?

Speaker 2 (04:11) : yeah, we've been doing a great job and they kind of understand, you know, this class on the, um, eight grade champions.

Yeah.

So, uh, they've been, uh, they've been waiting for their turn to kind of take over the team and be leaders, uh, and wind up being a top, you know, junior or with a lot of juniors in our class.

You know, i think i, i feel comfortable with them being leaders.

Speaker 1 (04:33) : alright, finally, your region's a little bit different this year, three aa, dublin, thank goodness for you, his house and, uh, east lawrence as well.

Lamar county monticello in, what have you felt on the new region?

Speaker 2 (04:44) : well, we're familiar with lamar county and monticello, so, um, it's no big deal for us to, you know, to travel to monticello and, uh, lamar county.

Uh, i, haven't seen a plan a couple of years, two or three years.

So, uh, we have to, you know, when we get a chance to play out, you know, we'll see how that film, how they look on film.

But i heard great things by both coaches and i know they're going to be prepared for our region.

Uh, you can say when i read it, when the tongue breezes in, in aa, speaker 1 (05:13) : no doubt about it.

It's very good.
