Amy how are students feeling about this decision?

They are excited!

I spoke with two seniors who say the year has been a huge disappointment, not getting to compete and perform how they thought they would, but they are happy to finish strong.

Landon simmons - drum major: "it is a little bit late for me and my cohorts, but for the lower classman it is excellent news."

Austin smith - drum major: "overall it is disappointing not getting a normal year, but it has stil been fun and i am glad i have had the chance to do anything at all."

The two senior drum majors both plan to continue their music careers in college.

Their music director casson scowcroft says this has been the hardest on all his seniors.

Casson scowcroft: "these poor seniors this year they have had their whole year stolen from them."

Scowcroft says typically the band is traveling, competing, and performing.

Scowcroft: "that kind of stuff and these seniors have worked so hard and then that year they have been waiting for didn't happen."

Smith: "so having something to look forward to and gage your progress is super important to us.

That is what we are all here to do, we are here to perform and show people what we can do and our talents.

Having that motivation really helps to imrove your skills and help to motivate you to do well in other things like school."

Pleasant valley is planning a performance right here in this parking lot... it will be sometime in may.
