Zinc8 Energy Solutions (CSE:MGXR) (OTCMKTS:MGXRF) said Friday that it will collaborate with the US’s largest state public power organization to install its zinc-air battery system in New York state. The agreement with New York Power Authority (NYPA) sees Zinc8 installing a 100 kilowatt, or one megawatt hour, zinc-air battery energy storage system in the state. The project was selected as a winner in the NYPA Innovation Challenge, which saw the utility call for partnerships with early-stage cleantech startups to help modernize the power system with more distributed energy resources and grid edge solutions. NYPA will contribute US$2.55 million to the project over a three-year period.  Carube Copper Corp (CVE:CUC) has closed its previously announced non-brokered private placement through the issuance of 50.1 million common shares at $0.05 per common share for gross proceeds of $2,505,000. In connection with the offering, the company paid cash commissions of $49,860 and issued 997,200 finder's warrants to certain parties with respect to the services provided. Each finder's warrant entitles the holder to purchase common shares at a price of $0.05 per share until their expiry date on January 18, 2022. The magazine, which has a base of thousands of subscribers in the US and Canada, highlighted the potential uses for the technology, which extends the life of milk, and healthier drinks and juices, by reducing heat exposure in the preservation process through a combined application of elevated pressure and controlled times and temperatures. In a statement, the Vancouver-based company said that the previous leadership had explored the opportunity to own up to 49% of the Northern Lights Supply store in Alberta, but it “no longer fits” into Weekend Unlimited’s “highly focused priorities.” Mirasol Resources Ltd (CVE:MRZ) (OTCMKTS:MRZLF), the project generator, updated on the Newcrest drilling program at the Gorbea gold project in northern Chile, which is the subject of an option and farm-in deal struck last year. Newcrest can buy, in stages, up to 75% of the project by meeting exploration and development milestones and making payments. It must spend a minimum of US$4 million and complete a minimum of 3,000 metres (m) of drilling over an initial 18-month period. Auryn Resources Inc (TSE:AUG) (NYSE:AUG) said Friday that it has identified the age of the intrusives directly associated with mineralization at its Sombero copper-gold skarn project in Peru, and it matches the same Eocene-aged metallogenic event that produced several world-class deposits in the Andahuaylas-Yauri belt. In a statement, the junior exploration company said that based on results from five uranium-lead samples obtained from diorite sills at the Ccascabamba and Nioc targets, ages range from 38.85 million years to 40.47 million years. This places the mineralization at its copper-gold project in the Sombero district in Peru within the same Eocene-aged metallogenic event that produced several world-class deposits in the Andahuaylas-Yauri belt, such as Las Bambas.  Esports Entertainment Group Inc (OTCMKTS:GMBL) has come out with an updated version of its esports gambling platform VIE.gg, complete with a suite of new features and device accessibility. The updates give players additional betting options such as fixed odds, fantasy and pool betting to complement its existing player-to-player wagering.  NexTech AR Solutions Corp (CSE:NTAR) (OTCMKTS:NEXCF) CEO Evan Gappelberg will be heading to the Bahamas to pitch the company’s augmented reality and virtual reality technology to investors. Gappleberg will be presenting at AlphaNorth Capital Conference at Baha Mar on Paradise Island in the Bahamas on January 18.  Tinka Resources Limited (CVE:TK) (OTCMKTS:TKRFF) shareholder Sentient Global Resources Fund IV LP filed an early warning report Friday related to its previously announced C$2.5 million financing of the junior explorer. Earlier this week Sentient IV exercised its participation rights as part of a December 2019 private placement financing, which saw Sentient IV acquiring nearly 10.3 million shares of Tinka valued at C$2.5 million. Sentient IV now holds over 74 million shares, or around 21.7% of the company, and nearly 3.5 million warrants to control approximately 22.5% of the firm on a partially diluted basis. The fund said it acquired the shares for investment purposes only and not with a view to “materially affect control” of Vancouver-based Tinka. Thor Explorations Ltd (CVE:THX) told shareholders Friday that the TSX Venture Exchange has accepted the company’s stock option plan, which reserves nearly 45 million shares or less than 10% of the firm’s total issued shares. Thor also said that it granted 14.25 million stock options to directors, officers and consultants of the company, exercisable at C$0.20 over a five-year period. The junior explorer has a portfolio of mineral projects in Senegal, Nigeria and Burkina Faso. American Manganese Inc. (CVE:AMY) will be presenting on advanced battery recycling for lithium-ion battery cathode metal recovery at the Cambridge House, Vancouver Research Investment Conference at 1055 Canada Place, Vancouver, on Sunday, January 19, 2020, and Monday, January 20, 2020. The firm said the conference will be attended by Larry Reaugh, Zarko Meseldzija and Shaheem Ali, It noted that Reaugh, its president and chief executive officer, will be presenting the firm's patent-approved process for recycling 100% of cathode metals such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese and aluminum from spent electric vehicle lithium-ion batteries.
