General Atlantic picks 1.3% in Reliance Jio for Rs 6,598 crore

New York’s General Atlantic will pump Rs 6,598 crore ($868 million) into Jio Platforms, marking its largest investment in India. The infusion, which requires regulatory approvals, will give the private equity firm a 1.34% stake in Jio, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries (RIL) and a major provider of cellular and digital services in the country.
