Sensex plunges over 1,400 points from day's high ahead of GDP data; Nifty below 11,400

Equity indices fell sharply on Monday afternoon ahead of the first quarter GDP (gross domestic product) numbers to be released later in the day. The benchmark BSE sensex plunged more than 1,000 points; while the broader NSE Nifty traded below the 11,350-mark.
