Killi Ltd (CVE:MYID) (OTCMKTS:MYIDF) has launched a new site to help consumers calculate the value of their personal data, it said Tuesday. UaretheProduct.io allows users to understand the value of their data based on the apps and platforms that they use, totaling the annual value based on the most-used platforms: Google, Facebook, Twitter, SNAP, Amazon, Netflix, YouTube, and Pinterest. Users of UaretheProduct.io can select the platforms that they use to understand what their data is worth to the technology giants, which will include its Average Revenue Per User metric in its quarterly reports. The metric will allow consumers to understand how the value of their data has increased. Killi has designed a consumer privacy ecosystem for people to gain more control of their data by understanding who is collecting and selling it without the user’s knowledge. Consumers can opt-in and link specific personal information from various financial and social accounts that they would like to put under their control and share with companies and be compensated directly in the form of cash for its use. "When we speak to consumers, we have found that by far, the part of the data ecosystem that they understood the least is the true value of their data,” Killi CEO Neil Sweeney said in a statement. “When you explain to someone how much each platform makes and how when amalgamated, it amounts to $500 per month and is growing 30% per year, the reaction is visceral. It's important to note that this practice of data collection is only accelerating and becoming increasingly more pervasive and private with the emergence of platforms like TikTok and the increase in smart speaker sales." Killi said that users who would like to take control of the data and be paid for its use can sign up for the service through its website.
