Benchmark Metals Inc (CVE:BNCH) (OTCQX:BNCHF) has announced the start of definition drilling and resource expansion at its flagship Lawyers project in British Columbia. The company said it has already completed more than 15,700 metres of drilling with two drill rigs positioned at the Cliff Creek deposit and two dill rigs located at the AGB deposit. “The company is operating one of the largest drill programs in Canada. Initial drilling has started and will target significant expansion areas to be included in an updated mineral resource estimate,” Benchmark Metals CEO John Williamson said in a statement. READ: Benchmark Metals eyeing the bulk tonnage potential of its Lawyers asset in the prolific Golden Horseshoe “Benchmark has planned a minimum of 100,000 drill metres to aggressively expand the deposit areas and generate new gold-silver ounces from new targets,” Williamson added. “The regional exploration and drill program will find new discoveries.” Benchmark also reported that it is in the process of shipping samples to the laboratory and initial drill assay results are anticipated in early August. As well, the company said four drills are currently operating on site and two additional diamond rigs will be added in the coming weeks.  Benchmark noted that to date in 2021, drilling has focused on expansion and conversion to the Indicated category at the AGB and Cliff Creek deposit areas. It added that drilling at the Marmot and Silver Pond discoveries and additional exploration targets will begin in the coming weeks. Benchmark Metals is focused on developing the substantial resource potential of its huge Lawyers asset, which sits in the prolific Golden Horseshoe of northern British Columbia. The asset consists of three mineralized deposits that remain open for expansion, as well as more than 20 new target areas along a 20-kilometre trend.
